What is the story of the anime?
After losing his parents, Shinpei Ajiro was raised by the Kofune sisters, Ushio and Mio, before moving to Tokyo to live independently. Two years later, in July 2018, he returned to his hometown, Hitogashima Island in Wakayama Prefecture, for Ushio’s funeral after hearing she drowned.
However, Shinpei grows suspicious upon learning that Ushio had strangulation marks on her neck, suggesting she was murdered. Haunted by her “shadow” and with Mio’s help, Shinpei seeks to uncover the truth about Ushio’s death and protect the island’s residents from a mysterious dark force.
