Game I
Date: June 8 – Stadium Australia, Sydney
Origin will return to Sydney’s Stadium Australia for the first time since Game II 2020.

Perth will host the fiercest rivalry in the contest’s history for the second time.
Tom Trbojevic scored a hat-trick to lead New South Wales to a 38-6 win at Optus Stadium in 2019.
A capacity crowd attended Origin’s Perth debut despite the rainy weather.
Game III
Date: July 13 – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
It won’t be until the final game of the series that the Maroons get back on their turf after playing three consecutive home games in 2021.
Queensland has won 37 of the 58 Origin games at Suncorp Stadium, the most of any venue.
Billy Slater will hope to wrap up the series in a square series, but his side will undoubtedly benefit from a home-field advantage if it’s all square.
NRL Rugby – Stats and History
The history of the NRL State of Origin series began in 1980 when a group of Queenslanders decided to take their talents south and compete against New South Wales. The first match was held in Brisbane and ended in New South Wales’s 16–8 win.
Since then, the series has become Australia’s most popular sporting event. It is played over three games, with each team playing two home games and one away game. Through all three games, points are accumulated to determine the winner.
The first player to receive six points was Kevin Hastings, who received two points for his performance in game one of 1986.
It was not until 2003 that a player received eight points (and therefore won the award) when Andrew Johns did so after being named man-of-the-match in Game III against New South Wales.
In 2011, Ben Hornby became the first player to be awarded nine points for his performance in Game II against Queensland. In 2015, Josh Dugan set a new record for most points awarded to an individual player with 11 points for his efforts during Game II against New South Wales.
The event takes place in the middle of June, following the end of the regular season. It’s played at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium, seating 83,500 people. Other events are held at the stadium, such as concerts and sporting events.
The event features two teams: one from New South Wales (NSW) and one from Queensland (QLD). Each team has 16 players on its roster who play in three positions: fullback (FB), wingers (WG), and centers (C).
Selectors choose these players based on their skill level and experience playing rugby league at a professional level. However, any injuries they might have sustained during previous matches or training sessions before this event occurs every year in June, without fail!
