Conversations with Friends revolves around two college students who develop an unlikely relationship with a married couple. Frances, one of the main characters of the web series, is a 21-year-old undergraduate student with a promising career as an author. Despite her young age, she is well-versed in steering the minefields of relationships. She also shares a strong connection with Bobbi, though when the two meet in Dublin, they catch the eyes of a journalist named Melissa, who offers to introduce the young pair to her husband, Nick.
As Bobbi and Melissa begin to flirt publicly, Frances and Nick also establish a covert affair, which ultimately puts her relationship with Bobbi in danger.
