Thor: The Dark World starts by showing the year after Loki’s disastrous alien attack on New York City. However, Thor and his friends Lady Sif and others fight to save the Nine Realms from fatal threats.

When Thor’s girlfriend Jane Foster finds a weapon called the Aether, she mistakenly awakens the vile Malekith and his Dark Elf army. Now Asgardians will have to face the consequences. Thor allies with  Loki to save his girlfriend by stopping Malekith. He also wants to save the Nine Realms so that Asgardians cannot face further chaos and darkness.

Alan Taylor directed the film with Christopher Yost from a screenplay. The writing team includes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor with Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, and Rene Russo.
