What has happened in the tournament so far?
So far, the Gujrat Titans have emerged as the strongest team in IPL 2023. They have won six matches so far and lost only two against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajistans Royals. The Gujrati team is at the top of the points table with 12 points.
Second to Gujrat Titans are Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giant, Chennai Super Kings, and Punjab Kings, with five victories in the last eight matches and 10 points at the table. Surprisingly the Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders have only won four and three matches and are in the 7th and 8th positions.
The odds are against our favorite Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, but it’s too early to say anything as several matches are still to be played in the coming days. The next match of IPL will be played on May 1, 2023, between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
As per our analysis, LSG will emerge victorious and defeat RCB. However, in cricket, you can not predict anything. As of writing this, the match is about to start, and we are watching it with an ExpressVPN account on JioCinema.

Controversies with IPL
The Indian Premier League has been the blueprint on which numerous T20 leagues have sprung up all over the world. With 15 editions done and dusted and some of the biggest names in the game making appearances, the IPL hasnât been without its fair share of controversies.
Letâs see what some of the most notorious controversies that the IPL has encountered since its inaugural edition in 2008 are.
1- 2013 Spot-Fixing Scandal
In 2013, Sreesanth, who was representing Rajasthan Royals, was arrested by the Delhi police along with his teammates, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan on charges of spot-fixing.
The Royals immediately suspended the players pending the conclusion of the investigation against the three, while the Board of Cricket Control India (BCCI) also suspended their contracts.
Both Chandila and Sreesanth were later acquitted by the courts and all investigation panels. Even though at one point they both had been banned for life by the BCCI, their life bans were lifted and both are now eligible to play cricket at all levels.
The investigation saw 11 bookies also getting arrested in connection with the scandal. One of the bookies was found to be in contact with Gurunath Meiyappan. This turned into a controversy because Meiyappan is the son-in-law of N. Srinivasan, who was not only the team principal of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the time but also the president of BCCI. Srinivasan was asked by the Supreme Court to step down to make sure the investigation remained impartial but he refused and later on Meiyappan was found Not Guilty of any involvement in the spot-fixing.
2- Slap Gate
Another controversy, another mention of Sreesanth. But this time he was the one wronged.
In the very first edition of the IPL, after Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians, led by Harbhajan Singh, Sreesanth was caught by cameras crying on the field before the ceremony. It was later revealed that Harbhajan had slapped the Kings XI Punjab player after his teamâs third consecutive loss, which had led to his violent outburst.Â
Although Sreesanth seemed to move past the incident calling Harbhajan his âelder brotherâ, separate investigations were carried out by the IPL and the BCCI. He was banned from the IPL for 11 matches and was ineligible for his match fees, while BCCI banned him for 5 ODIs.Â
3- Superstar Franchise Ownerâs Stadium Ban
Shah Rukh Khan is one of the biggest names in the Hindi entertainment industry and has a fan base that extends even outside India. So when he, along with actress Juhi Chawla, in a joint bid, acquired Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the franchise understandably gained a massive fanbase.
But in 2012, after a match between KKR and Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, a brawl erupted between the superstar and the stadium security. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) banned him from the stadium for 5 years and claimed that Khan was actually drunk and was trying to walk onto the pitch and that he had verbally abused the security personnel. In another version, they claimed that he had hit a security guard, and in another, that he had abused a female Mumbai Indians supporter.
Khan offered his side of the story and said that he had only gotten involved because he had seen his daughter and other children being mistreated on the pretense of security and that he had been on the receiving end of abuse.Â
The ban was revoked in 2015, and in 2016 the Mumbai police inquiry found that the actor hadnât used any abusive language in front of minors, nor was he drunk.
