Peaky Blinders – What Has Happened Uptill Now
The show starts off in 1914 when the three Shelby brothers are part of the army in the First World War. Following the events of the war around 1919, we see aunt Polly managing the Peaky Blinders as the brothers return from the war.
Tommy plans a robbery that goes horribly wrong and leaves the family and Peaky Blinders in danger. Meanwhile, Tommy falls for Grace, an undercover agent and asks her to work for the family.
Grace eventually betrays Tommy and gets Freddie arrested but due to her now having feelings for Tommy, she resigns. Tommy, who once had a deal with Kimber, shoots him bringing the Shelbys to being the third largest group of Bookies.
This is where we enter 1920 and 1921 as Freddie dies, Grace marries someone else while Campbell gets promoted to major. As Shelbys try to expand their business by raiding a club, Ada gets kidnapped while one of Tommyâs men die. As the new major pulls his strings on Tommy, Tommy finds Pollyâs son and allies with him.
In the meantime, Shelbys now have to face the twin thread of Alfie and Sabini and this is where Tommy has to make a bargain. At the same time, Tommy has gotten involved with Grace once again despite being in a relationship with May.
The lead Shelby brother is also planning to take over Sabiniâs racecourses and also assassinates the Field Marshal. Also during this time, Polly shoots Major Campbell after Tommy gets kidnapped.
We now enter 1924 where Tommy and Grace are about to get married as Arthur shoots a spy while at the same time, the whole Shelby brotherhood is at arms with Changrettas. During one such attempt to incapacitate Changrettas, Angel gets killed and in retaliation to which, Grace ends up dead as well leaving Tommy infuriated.
While ordering the hit on Changretta, Tommy also makes a deal with Father Hughes who turns out to be a Soviet informant himself and Tommy almost ends up dead. However, Tommy survives and makes a full recovery in the same year plans to rob the Russiansâ jewels.
Things go south again for the Shelbys as Tommyâs kid gets kidnapped. However, this time, the Shelbys come out on top and end up successfully completing their heist, retrieving the junior Shelby and even eliminating Hughes from their path. Some of the Shelbys however, end up getting arrested.
This event fast forwards the story into 1926 where the four arrested members are released from prison. But this isnât a happy ending for them as they soon receive threats from Luca Changretta for their deeds in the previous year. Apparently, the family starts to fall apart and the Shelbys pay a hefty price by losing a member as another one of them takes four bullets.
Moving into 1926, we see Tommy and Luca finally agreeing to settle the score without involving the innocents like kids and civilians. The mafia tries to one-up the Shelbys by two attacks on their members but both the members end up surviving.
Tommy enters a deal with Gold while Luca and Alfie join hands. Arthur gets shot during the planned boxing match and at presumed dead. Charngretta goes back to Birmingham to assume control of Shelbyâs empire but Tommy planned something else.
As the events unfold, Luca ends up dead thanks to Arthur while Alfie suffers the same fate because of Tommy, who has now vowed to become a mole for the government.
That has been the update so far. The sixth season of Peaky Blinders will pick up from 1929 where the family is now in peril once again and this time too, Tommy will have to lead from the front and do whatever needs to be done to save his family.
