In January 2022, when Ansreen sought to end the relationship, Saqib threatened to expose their intimate photos and videos. Worried about the repercussions on her family and her social media presence, Mahek devised a plan to stop Saqib, involving several others, including her TikTok followers. The situation escalated to a car chase on the A46, where Saqib and Hashim’s car was forcefully crashed.
A distressing 999 call from Saqib described the terrifying chase. Detective Inspector Mark Parish noted Mahek’s apparent lack of remorse during interrogation, only showing a reaction upon hearing the 999 call, possibly realizing the gravity of her situation.
