Rarely has a show undergone a genre evolution as stark as Riverdale. Starting off as a young-adult mystery based on the worldwide famous Archie comics, it is now more of a supernatural-crime drama.

The series premiered on the CW network on January 26, 2017, and follows the adventures of four friends, Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead, as they work to protect Riverdale from all sorts of evil.

It has managed to get renewed for six more seasons due to its popularity (which has been waning in recent years). The seventh and final season of the show will premiere on CW on March 29, 2023.

Where to watch Riverdale Season 7 in the United States?

Riverdale Season 7 is heading to CW in the United States. The series is set to premiere on March 29, 2023, with every episode streaming on a weekly basis. If you are in the US, head over to cwtv.com and search for Riverdale.

What to expect from Riverdale Season 7

Set in a town of the same name, Riverdale focuses on the lives of the residents of a small town that, on the exterior, appears to be peaceful and lovely. But the deeper you delve into the lives of the residents, the uglier the secrets you’ll uncover. The series opens with the four friends (in high school) trying to solve the murder of Jason Blossom, who happens to be their classmate Cheryl Blossom’s twin brother of their classmate.

Over six seasons, Riverdale has had it all, from serial killers and violent gangs to mystical cults and supernatural powers.

Get Ready for Some Time Travel

Well, you can add time travel to the numerous themes the show has somehow managed to encompass. Season 7 will pick up the from where Season 6 left off, with Cheryl saving the town using her fire powers (yeah, you read that right) and all of them somehow traveling back in time to the 50s.

Archie and the gang will be navigating the dynamics of a high school once again, all of them oblivious to the fact that they don’t belong in this era. Well, all of them except Jughead. Parallel universes and time travel to the 50s, marriages, and superpowers, season 7 promises to have it all.

Tying Up the Loose Ends

How long the gang will take to come back to their present-day lives, we don’t know. But we do know that it can’t take a lot of time because, as the final season, season 7 will have the added responsibility of tying up loose ends and giving answers to all the questions that have remained unanswered as of yet.

Fans expect to get closure about Archie’s girl trouble; who does he end up with, Veronica or Betty? Who does Jughead end up with, if he does so at all? and perhaps most importantly, will Hiram Lodge be coming back?

Who Is Returning for the Final Season?

When you consider the fact that they’ve all been sent back in time to high school all over again, albeit in a different era, it is not implausible to assume that a lot of the old characters who we’ve not seen in many seasons might well be making a comeback. Will all the characters seen in the high school storyline be coming back, or will we be introduced to some newer characters as well?

The cast of Riverdale Season 7

Riverdale has carried on the acting performances of KJ Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, and Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom.

Wrap Up
